Nearly Native: Wild and Cultivated Plants from Our Own Backyard - Presented by Mark Weathington, Dir JC Raulston Arboretum

Whether you are a seasoned green thumb or just starting your backyard garden, you will not want to miss our special guest speaker: Mark Weathington, Director of the JC Raulston Arboretum, Raleigh, NC. He will be sharing his expert presentation, "Nearly Native: Wild and Cultivated Plants from Our Own Backyard," right here in Statesville!

Here is what we have lined up for you on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Iredell Cooperative Extension Center:

8:30 AM - Doors Open: Kick off the morning with a breakfast spread, browse our silent auction items, and take a tour of the beautiful demonstration garden.

10:00 AM - Keynote Presentation: Gain invaluable native plant tips directly from one of the region's leading horticultural experts.

Can't make it out to the Extension Center in person? We have you covered with virtual livestream tickets so you can tune into the presentation from the comfort of your own home.

Best of all, every ticket purchased helps fund the new Yokefellow Community Garden initiative, bringing fresh produce to local families.
